Second Republican Congressman Admits Benghazi Committee Was ‘Designed To Go After’ Clinton (HRC GRP)

A second House Republican has now conceded that the overarching purpose of the House Select Committee on Benghazi has been to attack former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In September, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) argued that one of House Republicans’ successes has been using the Benghazi Committee to drive down Clinton’s poll numbers. Though McCarthy tried to walk back his controversial comments, Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY) argued on Wednesday that the Majority Leader had it right to begin with.

“Sometimes the biggest sin you can commit in D.C. is to tell the truth,” Hanna said in an interview on Keeler in the Morning, a radio show in upstate New York. The third-term congressman paused for a moment, perhaps recognizing the importance of what he was about to say, before going on to agree with McCarthy’s original statement.

“This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton,” Hanna said.

He explained further why he believes the Benghazi Committee’s purpose has been in part to attack Clinton. “After what Kevin McCarthy said, it’s difficult to accept at least a part of it was not,” Hanna said. “I think that’s the way Washington works. But you’d like to expect more from a committee that’s spent millions of dollars and tons of time.”...

the repubs. Which noteworthy because he is one. If I would have stayed in NY, he would have been my Congressman for awhile until they re-districted.

I can't imagine the teabagger party having any like for him.

U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna is only House Republican to vote against GOP abortion bill

There's that.. but, it seems there was something else he broke from his party.. that I took notice of over the years since I left.

Ah, here it is..

Richard Hanna, GOP Congressman, Slams His Own Party

Freshman Congressman Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.) must have had something in his ears when President Ronald Reagan spoke about the 11th Commandment of American politics: "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."

“I have to say that I’m frustrated by how much we -- I mean the Republican Party -- are willing to give deferential treatment to our extremes in this moment in history,” Hanna recently told The Syracuse Post-Standard editorial board, specifically taking Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) and other Republicans to task for their attack against Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's aide, Huma Abedin, over debunked links to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Comparing the political parties to sports teams, Hanna also told the Post-Standard that members of Congress were overly devoted to partisan victory and that his Republican colleagues were less hospitable than those on the other side of the aisle

We have had over six fucking years now of the mainstream media going all in on whatever silly, nonsensical pseudo-scandal the GOP happened to be obsessing over at that moment. Now, we have Republicans admitting that they coldly exploited the tragic deaths of four Americans and spent over $4 million of taxpayer money on what amounted to nothing more than a political witch hunt. This is what a real scandal looks like. This should be huge. This is the sort of thing that should end people's careers. And yet, I get the feeling that we are not going to see anybody held accountable. I get the feeling that the "liberal" media will not run with this real scandal in the same way that they ran with so many of the GOP's imaginary scandals. Why is this?

We'd never hear the end of it! And not just on Fox News, but in the "liberal" media as well!

And just in time too! We can only hope that the news agencies who will print anything for ratings, will find the committee itself a scandal.

But Hillary is, now, almost immune to their machinations!

I think Joe Biden should get ready to endorse his good friend Hillary Clinton.
