Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI just put about 10 people on ignore
I've been a member for 12 years and prior to today I had 2 people on my list and both were banned some time ago.
I only ignored a handful of anti-Hillary conspiracy touting asshats.
Not Bernie supporters, not people with disagreements about Hillary's positions, not even very vocal anti Hillary members who could at least have a civil, if heated discussion.
I ignored 10 people who were posting crap like Hillary is a fascist, or Hillary = Trump / criminal, etc.
I was amazed at how many posts got hidden when I ignored such a relatively small group of disrupters.
This small expirement has given me hope. We have a few loudmouths who are stinking up the place, but the majority of us will come together, as we have in the past. They don't represent the majority. Not on DU, not of Democrats, and, I sincerely believe, not of Americans.
We'll be ok.

(5,969 posts)I would be too scared to face such a crowd. But this picture shows how to stand strong and beat your opponents with class.

(9,494 posts)I think these supporters of his supporters act like rabid animals!

(28,270 posts)So every time I see a post that looks like it come straight from freerepublic I put the poster on full ignore.
If I wanted to see right wing lies I would hang with the freepers and get the same info minus the "I'm a leftist progressive" massive BS you get here.

(5,043 posts)I put a small handful of people on the list and then, 2-4 months later, go back to check their status.
So far, after 12 years here, I'm proud to say than my ignore list and banned posters has a 100% overlap. I don't use it much, but every once in a while I say enough is enough and eventually it seems the Admins agree.
Generally I like to hear / read opposing opinions. However when it's obvious that someone is just stirring shit without adding anything of value, I move on.
Edit to add: when doing this little exercise, that was my criteria: if said post would get an "amen" at FR, then the poster had the go.

(3,825 posts)That there are people on this board that aren't and have never been Democrats. I never had anyone on ignore until this election cycle and it grows everyday.

(15,365 posts)There were some whom I had respected for a long time and who were clearly not newbie or libertarian trolls. But there were some "last straw" moments for me today even wrt to those.
I may unblock after the primaries. But then again, I may not.

(50,911 posts)on ignore too, because they are spewing crap about an issue that has already been decided and they are fighting battles that don't make any difference at all.
Also because they suck.
I've also trashed GDP, but some of them still seep through. Like fungus.
