'Twas a gratifying moment of plain talk and unvarnished truth-telling. Cannot wait for the clip to become available. Classic moment.
Step by step, he forced the squirming and protesting Joe & Mika to watch him doing a "feet-to-the-fire" mock interview with an imaginary Trump.
With follow-up questions--4th and 5th level questions, as Reiner called them--and then the final rapier thrust of conclusion: "I see that you cannot or will not respond. This is unfortunate for the American electorate, who deserve some answers.
Scar and Mika tried constantly to interrupt and deflect his "lesson", but he would NOT be deterred. They tried desperately to justify their pandering, fawning handling of Trump, without success.

We're not going to change anyone's mind, they have totally committed to the fearless leader. I find it more frustrating than rewarding to even try to correct the record when some negative propaganda about HRC is posted as absolute truth. It blows my mind when people say Trump is actually "quite liberal" or that he's becoming presidential. Are they forgetting all his disgusting racist and sexist remarks and ideas? It's really sad (and telling of the Republican party) that this hasn't already disqualified him from becoming the nominee.
I missed this clip but I saw other parts of Morning Joe this morning. Again, Mika kept insisting that people were underestimating Trump and that he "had some work to do" but that he could very easily win back support...????
FFS! He said Mexicans are RAPISTS, wants to BAN Muslims, said men have to treat women "like shit", said he doesn't want black people handling his money....and that's just a tiny, tiny fraction of all the nasty things he's said! It's insane (and insulting) that people think Trump can "win back" the support of minorities and women after these statements. Do they think we're stupid??

It hadn't occurred to me, but your hypothesis of a VP offer to Scar makes some sense. What else could explain the blatant butt-kissing, unless it's the promise of "Press Secretary"?
