(42,862 posts)... an empty and impotent gesture that ONLY hurt themselves. And the vanity of being able to "brag" and "boast" about how intelligent they were for not being beholden to an organized party gave them "more freedom" to "express themselves".
Well, uh, actually ... no it didn't.
Lessons learned, I guess. Wisdom comes with age (and so does clear thinking... and so does not being emotionally driven into making rash and hasty decisions.)

(70 posts)It's something that should be of equal concern to all of us regardless of our candidate of choice. The integrity of our democracy is more important than any individual candidate.
Posts like these demean Hillary and her supporters, and make them appear childish and tacky. Please consider taking a higher road.

(70 posts)Whomever the nominee is, they will need as much support as they can garner. Smugness, arrogance and moral certitude will not serve your candidate.

(26,368 posts)whether they are Bernie supporters or Hillary supporters. There will be enough of the Republican dirty tricks to contend with, We need everyone to check their voting status for the November General Election.

(70 posts)geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)that is, how many showed up and couldn't vote because they got purged?
That would exclude people who:
1) are dead;
2) moved out of Brooklyn
3) didn't try to vote in this election

(2,034 posts)understand how the local election laws work, that you haven't been voting in a few election cycles and don't bother letting them know where you are, I'm sorry but I don't buy that bull crap. People have died so everyone can vote but yet showing up at a rally denouncing the front runner is easier then checking your voter status. Cry me a river

(70 posts)This kind of indifference to voting irregularities or attributing them to victim-blaming is little different than Republican "pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstrap" bullshit when it comes to poverty. Try being objective, and care a little about our democracy. 120,000 people were purged in Brooklyn. I think you know damn well that there were shenanigans afoot apart from people failing to update their address. NYC's mayor and the AG are both freaking Hillary super delegates, and they're outraged. Why aren't you? Because you believe your candidate benefits from this purge? Disgusting.

(2,034 posts)go whine about it in Bernie Sander's group or General Discussion Primaries. Quite frankly I'm so over folks like you coming into our groups pretending to know everything when you know nothing.

Traditionally, a presidential contender would see lots of money until he lost a few states, then that money would shrivel up and the candidate would drop out. Almost always, the drying up of funds precipitated the drop out. If you cant pay staff, theres no campaign. Thats what happened to Howard Dean. He lost Iowa, he screamed, the cash dried up, and poof, that was the end of his campaign. This might be the first time that a losing candidate has enjoyed a virtually unlimited spigot of cash. Its actually quite remarkable. He got trounced on both Super Tuesdays, the math became the math, yet the cash flow never slowed.
