Tad Devine’s Domino Theory of Victory (HRC GROUP)Tad Devine is a bright guy. But put him in a game of dominos and he’ll probably lose.
So when the top advisor for the Bernie Sanders’ campaign floats a set of unrealistic hypotheticals as a path to the Democratic nomination, we have to question his lucidity. A few minutes ago on the Rachel Maddow Show, Devine outlined his domino theory path to the nomination – a thesis based on three interwoven requirements for Bernie Sanders. 1. Win more states 2. Win more pledged delegates 3. Show the Democrats that Sanders can beat the GOP nominee and, the unspoken fourth action, 4. Persuade super delegates to flip and cast their lot with Sanders Let’s look at each. Continues in https://gobling.wordpress.com/2016/04/21/tad-devines-domino-theory-of-victory/

2. Strong statement from David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager in 2008
Already, Sanders has strained the goodwill of the Democratic Party. David Plouffe, President Obama’s campaign manager in 2008 and current Uber chief, went so far as to denounce him as a fraud.
Sanders has run a stunningly strong campaign fueled by passionate supporters. But raising $$ stating you have path to nomination is fraud. — David Plouffe (@davidplouffe) April 20, 2016 |

3. They are defrauding the BS Supporters
And it comes down to BS not really being a Democrat even though he says he is right now. If he truly wants to be part of the Democratic process, he would tell his supporters the truth about the probabilities and call it now.
He is hurting his supporters and the Democratic party again. |

4. This is exactly what Clinton tried in 2008 with no success, just being honest.
I don't know what extra magic juice Devine thinks he's added to it to make it a winning strategy this time around, but whatever it is it's not working.
I said somewhere yesterday, Bernie hired 2008 Obama's messaging team, while Clinton hired his delegate team. One of those was a winning decision, and I think we can all tell which one. ![]() |
