The day after a stinging primary defeat in New York, a new poll suggests Bernie Sanders faces an uphill battle in Pennsylvania next Tuesday the biggest of the days five primary contests.
The poll, released Wednesday by Monmouth University, finds Hillary Clinton leading Sanders by 13 percentage points in the Keystone State, 52%-39%.
Clintons New York win Tuesday stunted a primary win streak by Sanders, who had taken seven of the previous eight states.
After her win in New York this week, these numbers in nearby Pennsylvania suggest that the entire northeast is looking pretty good for the Clinton campaign, said Patrick Murray, the director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.
The survey captured the thoughts of 302 likely Democratic primary voters in the state, where 189 pledged delegates will be at stake Tuesday.

(1,968 posts)but then...New York, Clinton +15.8.
Now I'm not so sure that it's overly optimistic. Maybe a little, but I've already set my initial guess at Clinton +10 for PA.
