Hillary Clinton uses Daily News transcript to attack Bernie Sanders in contentious New York primary

Time and time again, Clinton used Sanders' own words against him, repeatedly pointing to the transcript of his April 1 interview with the New York Daily News editorial board as evidence that he simply wasn't prepared to lead the country, carry out his campaign's central promises, and take on the gun lobby in the U.S.

The Brooklyn democratic debate in 90 seconds

"He voted for the most important NRA priority," Clinton said, referring to Sanders' 2005 vote in Congress in support of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which protects gun manufactures from most lawsuits stemming from illegal use of their products.

“When asked whether he would support the Sandy Hook parents
suing to try to do something to rein in the advertising of the AR-15, which is advertised to young people as being a combat weapon, killing on the battlefield. He said they didn't deserve their day in court” — a reference to efforts by the families of the 2012 Newtown, Conn., shooting to sue the manufacturer of the weapon used in the massacre.

"I could not disagree more, this is the only industry in America … that has this kind of special protection. We hear a lot from Senator Sanders about the greed and recklessness of Wall Street, but what about the greed and recklessness of gun manufacturers and dealers in America," she added in a response punctuated by loud cheering.

When asked by CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer whether he owed the Sandy Hook families an apology, Sanders gruffly responded in the negative.
“No, I don't think I owe them an apology,” he said, prompting some booing, and another Clinton retort.

The latest RealClearPolitics average of polling in New York shows Clinton leading Sanders 53%-39% in the state.

Meanwhile, the primary itself could also end up being Sanders’ last chance to make a substantial dent in Clinton’s lead in the total delegate count for the nomination.

Interesting and substantial debate. Encouraging poll numbers for Camp Clinton.

Take away line:

Ask any one of them if they are ready to give up supporting that establishment by not purchasing another cell phone, computer, internet or cable- satellite TV, automobile, gasoline, airline travel, bank account, savings, account, 401K or pension fund, etc. etc. etc. We are all part of supporting, using and maintaining the ESTABLISHMENT every day. I'd like to see a show of hands on that one.

From what I read, Hillary basically handed his head to him and he came across as a crank & she as a PRESIDENT. Reality does become rather stark, doesn't it Mr Sanders?

PEACE!

...I thought the close ess of the Wyoming vote is an indicator that poeople are starting to catch on to the Sanders brand of baloney. I expect Hillary to run the table for the rest of April and probably by double digits in each of NY, PA, MD, CT, RI & DE!

Regardless of any Sanders campaign circle jerks about wrapping up the nomination in CA, I expect this to be over within a few weeks, and NOT to Back Bench Bernie's satisfaction!

PEACE!

He has his feet solidly in the NRA concrete bucket, proving over and over he is influenced by NRA by his votes and doesn't even apologize to the parents of Sandy Hook. We need to add all families who have lost loved ones to gun violence also. I dont give a damn about his D rating, it should be a F rating.

support gun control, buck the NRA, and you lose your election.

And he pompously suggests Hillary doesn't have "the guts" to take on the "moneyed interests"?
