Hillary Clinton

Whine, whine, whine. She's showing her desperation.
Excerpt:
Jane Sanders told CNN that she thought the candidate's hour-long interview with the tabloid's editorial board was "odd."
"We commented on that afterwards, that it was more of an inquisition, hurry, hurry, interrupt, let's ask the questions don't let you even finish your answers," Sanders said. "We didn't realize they had planned to release the transcript. So it became a little bit more evident what they were trying to do."
In other words, the interview was thorough.
Inquisition? 11 hours of questioning before the Benghazi committee, that's an inquisition.
Bernie and Jane are so not ready for prime time politics.

(3,709 posts)agree... they are not ready for prime time. There is an arrogance about Bernie and Jane that I find very annoying.

(40,200 posts)There is something about her that rubs me the wrong way. It could be the "I'm more virtuous than you vibe" she gives off.

(42,287 posts)How does she expect her husband to deal with foreign affairs if he's so delicate he can't handle a newspaper interview?

(8,000 posts)Maybe a flimsy excuse, but an excuse nonetheless. Did they expect that everyone would just tiptoe around him and give him good press?

(4,640 posts)which one would EXPECT from an editorial board before endorsing, in an inquisition? Why? Because he was not prepared? On his signature issue no less. That's all on Bernie that he wasn't prepared, not the interviewer.

(50,546 posts)The last day of the convention is July 28. If we were stupid enough to allow Bernie on the ticket, we'd be calling him None Such Sanders by the 10th of August.

(135,425 posts)And if you're going to blame any of the more recent missteps (The POPE, e.g.) on anyone, I would guess those are in her wheelhouse. She plays the Victim card about everything, how Bernie is questioned, her income taxes, you name it. She will own a big chunk of his loss.
The surly, snarly, Hill Hate stuff, though, I don't put on her--that kind of stuff sounds like it's straight outta the Devine - Weaver shop. Very bro-y.
Bernie would probably be doing better if he didn't allow them to force him into the mud like he has been doing. He is NOT a pleasant man--never has been--but I don't think he is naturally vicious. However, his advisors keep pushing him in that direction and all it does is polarize.

(42,862 posts)Yes ... that's it exactly. It's clear to me that they've both become accustomed to just coasting along and meeting no resistance or scrutiny. When you go for months and months without having to answer tough questions, I suppose it would be very EASY for them to just recline and relax.
Well, SURPRISE!!! That's not how elections are won, Bernie and Jane.

(30,058 posts)off to his favorite financial statement. Chris Matthews tried to get the answer how he was going to get his agenda through Congress and he still could not answer the question. This is not once but has been happening since he has declared his candidacy, he may have been tired on the day of the interview with NYDN, must mean he has been tired many more times..

(24,393 posts)Hillary answered the questions in depth. If you read the transcript of her interview, the questions are short and the answers are quite deep and extensive. That's the way it's supposed to be when you sit in front of an EDITORIAL BOARD at a major newspaper.
Compare to Sanders, who is asked the same simple questions, doesn't answer them, answers with his canned stump speech bs or stumbles about, saying, "I don't know" and "Hadn't thought about that," and, yeah - you're going to get pushed and jumped on for not providing an acceptable answer to the question. And if your answers don't get any better, then, yeah - it's going to feel like an inquisition.
The problem for Sanders is that this was an OPPORTUNITY for him to provide depth to his sound bites. He failed, because there is no depth to provide to his sound bites...unless he wants to tell the truth and admit that his programs are going to raise people's taxes about three times higher than he's willing to admit.
And as is typical of these two political amateurs, their knee-jerk reaction to their own shortcomings is to play the victim card...again!
So tiresome.
I'll be glad when he's finally out of the race and the ADULT running for president has the floor to herself.

(22,133 posts)Everyone is just supposed to trust him. Never mind that he can't explain his ideas or he doesn't know much about foreign policy. What is worse is he has been at this for 25 years!

(145,046 posts)One story is that Sanders did a good job in this interview. Of course that story falls apart when you read the interview. The latest is that the press was being mean to Sanders which is the same as saying that Sanders is not up to the job of being POTUS. I wish that the Sanders people will get their excuses straight
