Barack Obama
Related: About this forumWhat do you make of these polls that have Gingrich ahead of Obama
in Ohio and PA? Even if you hate Obama do they really think that Gingrich is presidential material? Do they not remember that he had to leave the congress in disgrace with 84 ethics violations and the highest fine in the history of congress? Do they not know all the nasty things this man says and how crazy his policies are?
I am really worried for Obama who DEFINITELTY deserves another 4 years. He is everything you want in a President and Gingrich is the opposite.

(367 posts)Even if it was showing Obama 90:10 or Obama 10 0
I think we all need to go out and do our part as much as possible. Let's win by a landslide!

(717 posts)He is the most easy to defeat out of all of the republican candidates. I am actually sad that his flavor of the month status came this early; he won't win any primaries now. He probably has two weeks left with how hard democrats are hitting him now.
It's unfortunate. We should be supporting Gingrich, because there is a greater chance of the world crashing into the black hole in the center of the universe than him even getting close to the white house.

gack.

(178 posts)GOPers are benefiting from the exposure that is part of the primary process.
Having said that, this is shaping up to be a very tight election. The middle is shrinking and since they are the least educated voters, the side with slickest ads is likely to win.

(53,661 posts)I don't expect Obama to carry any state with a GOP administration, either.
But the issue is not the regressives who will vote GOP or Tea Party no matter what.
If the Democratic Party was running Jesus, they'd vote against Him, period.
The issue is getting the Democratic vote out and the GOP has done an excellent job since 2000 disenfranchising voters and they have not stopped, in fact they have won most of the battle on this.

(53,661 posts)Democratic voters, a staged event to present the typical conservative line. Although I'd expect a backlash against what Synder has done, as well as some props for Obama on the auto industry.
As far as Ohio and Pennsylvania... not so much chance as Wisconsin. Although the little rebellion in Ohio over stripping public workers of their bargaining rights was heartening.

(4,062 posts)I am loving discussing Newt with the local rethugs. I get to bash on Gingrich's "morals" and I get to bash them too. After all, if Newt's many and well documented transgressions are not relevant to his presidency right up front then why did we waste sooooo much time on how that blue dress disgraced the office of the president?
I get to tell them that their choice candidate tells me everything I need to know about their true views on morality. Then I laugh at them. I'm eating lunch with a few less people right now but after years of putting up with their crap this opening was a breath of fresh air.
It won't last though. Just remember, Huckabee was winning at this point last time around. We forget how long the race really is.

If the election were held today it would be a massive landslide victory for the President.
