Made my day around 6:15 a.m.

Went into Royal Farms store around 6:00 as usual for coffee as usual on the way to work and the young lady who usually rings me up said she really wanted to compliment me on the button on my handbag. I asked her which one (I have peace symbol, dove, = sign, peace dove). She liked them all but was referring to the Obama "2012" button. I thanked her and asked if she was an Obama supporter. She was getting my change and said, "Oh yeah, big time! We're ALL big Obama supporters here."

I don't usually look forward to Monday, but I will be start the week off on the right foot by giving her some 2012 buttons and bumper stickers for her and her co-workers.

Cranky old liberal and 20-something young lady 100% for Obama! Love it!

During the 2004 election, I noticed that the young woman who usually checked me out at a local store was wearing a button with Bush* crossed out. I had to mention it and we got to talking, turns out she was still in school, very interested in politics, so I began bringing her articles I thought she'd be interested in and she'd ask me about articles she had to read for the courses she was taking. I was always afraid she'd get into trouble for spending too much time conversing with one customer.

Hope she didn't get into any trouble. Always nice to exchange ideas with those we come into contact with! Anyone wearing a button with Bush* crossed out would have gotten a positive comment from me as well. Very nice of you to take an interest and provide her with information.

I meet the agents on a one on one situation and all of them relax with me and they get to know where I am coming from and I know which way they are thinking.

The funny thing is that all of the agents think that the Border Patrol is overwhelming against the President. The reason for that is that there are a few outspoken Anglos that are beligerent in their opposition to the President and everyone in the group thinks that they speak for the majority.

The fact is that having interviewed 200 agents in the last 12 months I have yet to find a single Hispanic Agent that is not supporting the President and half of the Anglos support the President, but they are all quieter more reserved professionals.

When I tell them that its only a few loud mouths they are generally surprised.

The last guy I talked with was a Hispanic guy living in a red neck area and he drives a Prius. I told him I knew that he was an Obama supporter because there is no conceptual construct that would allow the only Border Patrol Agent who doesn't drive a pick up and actually drives a Prius to support anybody but Obama.

The media would have everyone believe the Border Patrol is totally against Obama. Thanks for enlightening me on this.

Great to see you back here! I'm a weekend insomniac and enjoy DU/BOG in the early morning hours.

As much as I don't like Monday mornings, I am looking forward to this one because I know this wonderful young woman who works so hard will just looooove getting her buttons and stickers. She said ALL of her co-workers are for Obama - awesome.

On this we can certainly agree - Obama 2012!

She was so happy with the buttons and bumper stickers! Gave them to her around 5:45 a.m., before she started work. Helped her put the sticker on her car on the spot and she has given all of the others (9!) to co-workers and family!
