Attended a college graduation party for a friend's daughter on Saturday.

When I got there her mom, my friend, told me it would be a combination graduation party/gay rights celebration. Turns out the graduate, 22, is lesbian. She and her girlfriend were both wearing "Rainbows are Gay" pride shirts and most of her friends in attendance were gay, as well. It was a wonderful party and it was great to see her and her friends being completely open about their orientation and having such a great time. Her mom introduced me to her, telling her I was an old friend and had participated with her in Women For Obama 2012. She, and every one of her friends (I think), thanked me profusely for working to get Obama elected! Very impressed with how politically involved and motivated these young women are. It is one thing to support a candidate but very special to see the positive effect that candidate's election is having on real people's lives!
