problem with google search

Google search freezes up on my laptop. I use windows 7, Internet explorer with Google as my homepage. When I search random topics, I get a list of sites but none of the links work. The screen either fades, so I can't click on anything, or goes blank without loading the selected site. I've cleared my temporary files and run a security scan. No luck. Any ideas what's going on?

All of Google's search results cause an OnMouseDown event to fire a JavaScript method so they can monitor what links you are clicking and keep statistics on your every move.

You will see even though you hover over the link, it shows:

the link actually directs you to:

I did a restore and that seems to have fixed it. The last MS update must have tweaked something.

Mozilla Firefox or SeaMonkey, even Chrome or any of several other browsers are faster and more secure.

About a year ago I ditched all my malware defenses and activated Security Essentials. I've had zero security issues and no significant compatability issues since. All I want from Google is a search engine. I resent the fact that they've tried to force me to use Chrome.

I would like to suggest you to upgrade your browser first or you can download different browsers like Google Chrome or Firefox
