1. First you have to upload your photo to a free photo hosting site

like Postimage, www.https://postimages.org. Then you copy the link assigned to your photo to DU. It doesn't work to do it directly because the photo needs a place to "live" on the Internet.

6. Does it work on a tablet?

I have tried and the only result was frustration.

3. That applies if you are trying to post an image from another Web site.

However, images that are from Facebook pages will not post.

If you are talking about an image that is on your own hard drive or network, then you will need to upload the image to a image sharing site such as Photobucket or postimage.org (the one that I use since it is free). From there, you can post the URL link to that image.

4. You need to paste a link

That goes to the image address.

In Firefox, you would right click on the image and from the context menu select 'Copy Image Location'. Terminology probably different in other browsers.

Then paste the copied location in your post.

5. Right click on the image, then click "open in new tab." Then copy the URL from the

new tab version of the image. Usually that works, though occasionally (not often) you just get a link. I think when it doesn't work it's because the image is copyrighted, so you can only link to the source, not copy the actual image.
