Anyone else having problems with Win 7 update?

Dug some computers out of the garage that had been sitting about a year. Hooked them up to update everything. Firefox updated. Malwarebytes updated. Microsoft Security Essentials updated. Had windows update check for updates and it just sits there-finally get a message saying it could connect and find any updates.
M$ help once again is useless. Even downloaded their Fixit tool and it installed, then when I tried to run it, says it couldn't connect.

the "Upgrade to WinDOZE 10" process began IMO, CPU locks up @100% usage at times & high memory consumption. Google search Windows 7 Update high CPU

Try installing IE11 & also latest Windows update client manually before running Windows Update... it's still a crapshoot IMO.

That can mess things up if they revert to some random time after sitting for a year or so.
