Is anyone else having a problem with DU pages loading?

I'm using Firefox version 29 in Windows XP, and it seems DU pages, including the home page aren't loading properly. (the little clock thingy on the tab just keeps spinning, almost forever...) This seems to have started three or four days ago, and I'm wondering if it's just my machine, or if anyone else is having the same problem. I think Firefox recently did a version update recently, and the problem may have been concurrent with that, but I don't know that it's a browser problem, since I don't really notice any other websites having any problem. (it may be a compatibility problem between the browser and DU?) I would appreciate any guidance from any DUers who might be having a similar problem, or might have ideas to resolve it.

If you look in Ask the Administrators group, you'll see:

Skinner says he will have Elad check on it.

Sorry I can't help.

because I haven't been able to get in for the last three days, and he couldn't help me either. I only got in now by opening a link to this thread in google...I cannot open the home page from google or my favorites bar. I tried to post in another thread concerning this issue and it wouldn't let me post. So I doubt this post will go through either. I can only try.

I could not preview my post above, but it did let me post it. I guess I'll just have to wait to see if DU can fix this because I don't think it's at my end. And it started for me about the same time as the OP. The only way I can get in is to find a link to a direct thread and open that.

are posted above.

If you use CenturyLink for your ISP, that could be the problem right there. Seems most who are having this issue are on CneturyLink... who is having tech problems on their end.

I'm currently using the "sync" instead of "www" in the URL (Home Page or Latest Threads page and then all the pages you open will use that prefix otherwise you may have to stop each page while loading and change the "www" to "sync&quot and that has solved the problem for me until my ISP get's its act together.

there are other inconsistent issues like my wordpress home page selection has been unavailable a few times and watching cable news shows online have numerous interruptions and sometimes the vid will just end abruptly and i have to reload it a few times to watch the whole thing. But none of that is like trying to open a page on DU without any of those URL substitutes.

CL has phone issues in my area too so...

The remedies above seem to be helping most of us who have he misfortune of having one choice for ISP... that being CL.

They did not admit to any tech problems on their end. But of course!

they won't admit anything... but it's them. In my area, rural MT, they have messed up municipal phone lines in the near-by town because they are the land-line provider, for cell service it's verizon. But it's Centurylunk. Been nearly a week for some.

Corporatocracy, it's just how it is.

I can't help but wonder if they are trying to keep people away from DU until after the elections.
