The far right are fighting amongst themselves again!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2012/oct/16/bnp-andrew-brons-resigns-mep

Divisions that may spell the end of the far right British National party exploded into the open on Tuesday with the departure of one of its two MEPs.

Andrew Brons announced he was quitting the BNP with an angry statement claiming that up to 90% of the party's membership, activists and former officials had already left. He blamed the party chairman, Nick Griffin, for "having destroyed the party of which he is still nominally head". Observers of the British far right predict Brons will launch a new party in competition with the BNP.

Brons has been distancing himself from Griffin for some time and last year appeared to back an unsuccessful leadership challenge by Richard Edmonds, prompting speculation that he was preparing to lead a breakaway group.

Griffin has been under growing pressure since the BNP's poor showing in 2010's general and council elections, when it lost all but two of the 28 councillors up for re-election and was wiped out in what was then its east London stronghold of Barking and Dagenham.

As an agnostic, I wish there was a hell that they could fry in.

...that in addition to making reference to the "People's Front of Judea" scene from Monty Python's Life of Brian whenever the far left is discussed, we can now use it whenever we discuss the far-right as well?

On a side note, a lot of BNP types have defected to the English Democrats since the general election.

Nick Griffin's success (in his own terms) has been to hold the B.N.P. together and rein in some of the less photogenic (shall we put it that way) elements; he has done so at the same time as a significant part of the population has become disillusioned with the mainstream parties...unfortunately (for the whole body politic) this meant that he managed to con some of them into thinking that the B.N.P. was a real party with sane policies.

A bit of public infighting will help to weaken that support.
