Wisconsin: Effort to recall Democratic State Senator Bob Jauch is OFF

From [link:http://|Blue Cheddar].

How confusing. Although Republican recallers said they were “on task” with getting enough signatures to recall Bob Jauch when asked April 25th, they have called off their efforts.

Excuse me – I get ahead of myself. It was already confusing that Republicans were conducting a recall at all. Republican recall opponents have asserted that exercising this right to recall guaranteed by my state’s constitution is wasteful.

Certainly democracy IS inefficient when compared with autocratic rule.

At any rate, Shirl LaBarre of Hayward was a key instigator of the failure. She’s instigated 3 failed runs for Assembly as well. A few of us thought LaBarre might fare a little better this round given she had the assistance of a Milwaukee right wing Tea Party group called Citizens for Responsible Government Network (CRG) and its affiliate CRG Northland. The Morans* in question also had the advantage of relatively balmy weather as compared to the wintery weather that 30,000 or so Walker recallers endured on their road to collecting double the signatures they needed to Recall Walker..

Bob's district is a mix of good blue-collar, blue-voting areas like Superior & the Finnish areas of Douglas, Bayfield & Ashland Counties on the one hand, and right-wing shitholes like my old home town of Hayward on the other. I'm almost surprised they couldn't get enough sigs for a recall effort.

I've watched his career for years and think he has earned the respect of Liberals and Conservatives alike for his level-headed, no-drama, no over-the-top-rhetoric style of representing his district.

I'm glad these...people...failed.
