Former Democratic U.S. Rep. Dave Obey of Wausau on Wednesday endorsed iron worker Randy Bryce's bid to unseat House Speaker Paul Ryan.

In unusually harsh language, Obey attacked Ryan, claiming that he "has, for far too long, gotten away with his finely tuned act of being a moderate policy wonk, fighting the good fight on behalf of his constituents in southeast Wisconsin."

"Rather, Ryan is an intellectually rigid, romantic ideologue masquerading as a moderate and pragmatic legislator," Obey said in a statement released by the Bryce campaign. "The only thing moderate about Paul Ryan is his demeanor."

Obey also claimed that Ryan has "pushed to turn (President Donald) Trump from a promise-keeper to a promise-breaker," on the issues of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid................................................

1. Way to go Dave.

Now that is a endorsement you can take to the bank.

2. Randy Bryce would definitely have my vote if I lived there.

He is such a breath of fresh air.

3. I actually think Ryan may be toast. The Repubs don't

much like him either, for different reasons. I just wonder if his replacement will be better. Trey Gowdy would be even worse. More conservative, stupid, & more obsessed.

Anyway, when Ryan goes, I'll crack the champagne I had planned for Hillary's victory.

4. The FoxConn deal will be the thing that

breaks the Rethug stranglehold on your State. You just do not have the Resources or ability to service this idea. And you now have lost Kenosha, well that says volumes.

5. Randy Bryce has so far been impressive in his national

exposure. Think we should consider chipping in a few supportive bucks to his campaign. One way of expressing contempt for Ryan.

6. Obey is worth listening to.

When Dave Obey says something, you can take it to the bank. He has a reputation as a straight shooter and honest man. Our country could use a lot more like him.
