Related: About this forumI haven't watched our local city council closely, way too right wing already. But two Spokane
city council members, at least one a long-time member, citing new members who are militant right wing. One said he didn't want them knowing where his home and business are because he felt threatened.
One story here. http://www.kxly.com/news/spokane-news/second-spokane-valley-city-councilor-resigns/39214708
They fired a city manager for, apparently no good reason, costing the city $450K in a payout, so not off to a great start. Said this is the will of the voters.
Interesting to watch these things play out. One wants to move, but there is no refuge. Not really. An injury to one is an injury to all.

(15,882 posts)Our local rep (who pulled a gun on a fella in a moment of road rage) beat the democrat here recently - published a picture of her home with directions, so all his buddies would know where her family lived.
When the city councilman quit saying he was in fear for his safety, he wasn't kidding. And he had a lot more resources to protect his family than most anyone.
When they heard that Spokane wanted to be place of safety for immigrants, they: - Council passes anti-sanctuary city resolution: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2016/jan/06/council-passes-anti-sanctuary-city-resolution/
25 miles from here (Idaho) they just enacted concealed carry with no permit. Those are the same folks that are over here. These people absolutely celebrate ignorance.
The problem with fighting them is they are more like ISIS than they know. They would rather the entire place burn to the ground rather than adopt things like respect for others religions and skin color differences. So even if you win, they will stop your growth, and kill their opponents along with themselves.
Nobody wins.
Fun times...
