Rick Santorum will be speaking at UVA on Thursday September 19th. Free tickets are available at GOP headquarters, Albemarle Square, opposite ACAC. Details from the Daily Progess follow below.

September 9, Daily Progress Rick Santorum, the runner-up for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, is scheduled to speak later this month at the University of Virginia.The former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania turned from outsider to contender in last year’s GOP race, taking 11 primaries and caucuses and capturing almost 4 million votes before bowing to eventual party nominee Mitt Romney.

Santorum served two terms in the Senate before losing a 2006 re-election bid to Democrat Bob Casey.

Young Americans for Freedom is hosting Santorum. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 19 in Old Cabell Hall.

then go home, burn the tickets in the backyard, and put it in the compost pile.

4. He is surging in the polls

except his surge is in the wrong direction. An early poll had Christie leading with like 18%, Ryan around 16%, but the noteworthy thing was that Santorum, who possibly had the highest name recognition and has been showing up everywhere lately, was at 5%. Rick knows he is history, just trying to make a few bucks while he can.
