Bridge Implosion in Marble Falls TX (with slow motion!)

On March 17th, 2013 the steel US 281 Bridge in Marble Falls, Texas was demolished to make way for the construction of two new concrete bridges. Here’s a video showing the bridge being destroyed in slow motion.


Just for visual fun. We need to fix so much of our infrastructure.

1. Crossed that guitar-strumming span for the last time a year ago...

 

I believe it was the same type as the one which collapsed in Minnesota a few yrs. back; one gusset failure and the whole thing can go. It needed to go big-time.

2. 70,000 bridges

70,000 bridges that are a danger in the U.S.

I think that's the number President Obama used in his State of the Union speech this year.

Think of the job creation we could be igniting. Yes that pun was intended.
