Has Anybody Besides Me Done An Alert On A Texas-Bashing Post Lately?

I alerted on a really flagrant one today, and to put it as tactfully as possible, the jury response was not exactly gratifying. Just thought you ought to know.....

That leave the South, Texas and religion to bash.
Some people have anger that they must direct at something. It's harmless and Texas can take it as well as deserve a share- what with Dubya, Perry, Cornyn and Kay Bailey. Not to mention Dick Armey and Tom Delay.

Texas is responsible for tearing down our country. Now that is not all Texans but the a-holes that some Texans sent to DC are a good reason for anger.

Texans shouldn't be bashed. I have several good friends who are native Texans, so I wouldn't like to see it. And as for the response above me- California has brought us Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Bob Dornan, etc.- guess you'd be fine with us bashing them too, right? Any state has bad apples, don't mock an entire group due to the few bad ones. That's what freepers do.

We both know that the majority mix of people on DU really don't have a problem with Texas bashing. We essentially have a jury of your peers in the same sense that African Americans couldn't get a fair trial with and all white jury.

It's going to take decades to make progress. And the idiot Rick Perry national run didn't do us any favors.

If you want to keep your sanity, you need to toughen your skin even more and prepare to make a stronger case on the alerts that are very, very reasoned. You have to be a Clarence Darrow and fight the case of your life. Every time too. It won't be easy, it will be time consuming and you still may not win. But you'll keep your sanity because you keep trying to fight for what is right. I think that's what I see in your heart and soul. You are a fighter.

The other alternative - is that you take the Matrix blue pill and slip into the "blissful ignorance of illusion". That's sort of my choice. I came to my personal conclusion a long time ago. My time on DU is limited and in order for me to stay sane in the real world, I just had to find a corner that wasn't going to make me angrier in my real life. Just don't need the aggravation of the above ground mentality.

It'a a personal choice based on how much energy and dedication you feel you have to give to this corner of the Interweb world.

Either way, no one is going to judge you here in the Texas DU forum.
