Christopher Columbus discovered America, the Civil War was about states’ rights, and colonization was good. History in Texas has already been whitewashed and it’s about to get worse.

1. Real history isn't taught until university.

So that leaves a lot of people who only learn the dates and events. If happened more than 50 years ago most people only have some white washed, rose colored glasses understanding of history. That is for their own country of course. They understand little or nothing of other regions of the world.

This works for the conservatives. They would rather we are all ignorant as possible, except those they consider elites. Easier to manage and exploit them that way. Easier to maintain individual power, the heart of conservatism.
