Jenny Cudd, Eliel Rosa plead not guilty to Capitol riot charges

Midlanders Jenny Cudd and Eliel Rosa pleaded not guilty Tuesday to five federal charges resulting from riots at the U.S. Capitol building last month.

During an arraignment hearing this week, they each entered not guilty pleas on counts of obstruction of an official proceeding, entering a restricted building, disruptive conduct in a restricted building, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

Cudd also requested to modify the travel dates for a previously approved trip to Mexico and was granted permission to change those dates. She’s required to submit a new itinerary to pretrial services and notify pretrial services after her return.

Cudd and Rosa are each facing up to 20 years in prison for the obstruction of an official proceeding charge, a felony, as well as up to three years in prison for the other misdemeanor charges.

2. I'm certain that the tape will be entered into evidence.

And while it was a poor decision to let Cudd go to Mexico for the work retreat, they should have required to wear an ankle monitor at all times.
