AUSTIN -- With a swipe of his pen, Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill Saturday that bans red light cameras in Texas into law.

(507 posts)a few years ago. The very law did away with the simple fact of Innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law provision in our Legal System. Plus, it made the local governments and the Red Light camera companies S**T TONS of $$$ I got slammed with one once several years ago, $167.00! To be honest, I don't even remember going through the Intersection, but there I was, in my little VW Golf. Oh well.

(767 posts)What are these states going to do without this LOST revenue? They sure do not provide good wages and their si no tax basis. I guess federal welfare is what these third world countries live on down south. I think the cameras were a BUST and just enriched some camera company versus real REVENUE. I noticed years ago intersection light poles come with metal pipe posts to add cameras. Not everyone has the money for cameras........My county has 4 stop lights and NON of the lights has CAMERAS......NOT TEXAS
