O'Rourke seeks debates with Cruz; draws 500 to Temple event
Beto ORourke, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, is confident he will debate his opponent, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, the El Paso congressman told the Telegram on Thursday.
The two campaigns have been going back and forth regarding where, when and how many debates in which Cruz and ORourke will participate. Most recently, according to the El Paso Times, ORourkes team stressed they want to work with the Cruz camp while the senators team claimed they have tried to contact the Democratic campaign.

Democracy is a collaborative process, ORourke said, walking to his Toyota Tundra after a town hall event at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic & Convention Center.
ORourkes morning forum marked his fourth visit to Bell County since he announced his Senate campaign. Event organizers said 508 people attended the congressmans event on Thursday.
