Rick Perry: "I Totally Support" Trump's Ban On Transgender Troops

U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry says he backs President Donald Trump’s move to ban transgender Americans from serving in the military.

“I totally support the president in his decision,” Perry, an Air Force veteran and the former Governor of Texas, told reporters on Friday after speaking to workers at an air conditioning manufacturer. “The idea that the American people need to be paying for these types of operations to change your sex is not very wise from a standpoint of economics.”

Trump announced the transgender troop ban earlier this week through a series of tweets that injected a fresh dose of confusion into a U.S. Capitol already best by political chaos.

“After consultation with my generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States government will not accept or allow … transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military,” Trump tweeted. “Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming …victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption.”

And their production and testing?

I was fortunate enough to spend half of my senior year in physics at Argonne National Laboratory, outside of Chicago. It was run by the Department of Energy and was nestled in a forest preserve and had its own herd of European fallow deer, who were all over the place. Fortunately, I worked in solid state physics, not nuclear. One of my compatriots was so inept at the latter that he exposed himself and his co-workers TWICE by his violating protocol of handling fissionable materials. Needless to say, he suddenly was missing from the program.

At that time, in the late 60's, Argonne hosted the largest repository of weapons grade fissionable material, housed in an old reactor building around which there was a great fence and 24 hour guards. Even if one could get on the forest preserve lab site unseen (unlikely) one would dare not traverse that fence, let alone get close to it, even though it was in plain sight.

Nevertheless, we could get close to the Crockcroft-Walton preinjector to the particle accelerator on site. That made up for it. A more SciFi like image has not been seen.

It is an otherworldly view, multi-stories tall. This thing was BIG!

I am sure that Rick Perry has never heard of Cockcroft or Walton. Or Feynman, or Oppenheimer, or Albert fucking Einstein! Either that, or he thinks that they were all an utter hoax!

Such is his blinkered ignorance.
