Blue Bell flavor returns just in time for patriotic Fourth of July
BRENHAM -- Blue Bell Creameries has returned their patriotic ice cream just in time for the Fourth of July.
On their social media platforms, the Texas company announced June 15 that Red, White & Blue Bell has returned. The flavor is a swirl of vanilla ice cream with blueberry-flavored ice cream with blueberries and strawberry-flavored ice cream with strawberries.
The three flavors create a patriotic swirl of "red, white and blue" (it's more of a pink, cream and purple, but we'll let them slide).
In April 2015, Blue Bell faced the reputation-smearing listeria recall that recalled 8 million gallons of ice cream and shut down four factories for several months of cleaning and repairs. At least 10 cases of people falling ill add three deaths were reported, according to the FDA.
