Rep. Bill Flores (R) weighs in on controversies surrounding the White House (State of Denial)

U.S. Rep. Bill Flores said Wednesday that his office has gotten "dozens" of calls from constituents demanding the impeachment of President Trump or an independent special prosecutor to oversee the Russia investigation, as well as "dozens" of calls from constituents offering support for the president -- though "not as many as people calling for impeachment," he said.

On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced former FBI Director Robert Mueller would serve as special counsel to oversee a federal investigation into potential coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign during the 2016 election

The 17th District U.S. congressman called into The Eagle on Wednesday evening to weigh in on the latest news from the White House during a particularly dramatic week in Washington, D.C.

Flores said he doesn't "worry about the president's ability to safeguard classified information" after the Washington Post reported Trump had disclosed classified intelligence to the Russian foreign minister and the Russian ambassador to the U.S. during a recent White House meeting. Flores said there are three components to intelligence: actual data, sources and methods.
