Morrison Milling Company recalls corn products (mostly HEB, Fiesta and Pioneer brands)
Production at Morrison Milling Co. was down for an estimated two and a half days after the business found a faulty screen in the corn production plant in Denton, officials said.
Now, dozens of products shipped to grocery stores and restaurants are being voluntarily recalled, according to a statement from the company. No consumer complaints, illnesses or injuries have been reported, and the faulty metal screen had been repaired by Sunday, the company said. The recall focuses on corn-based products sold to customers before Sunday.
Metal fragments, described as thin as a strand of hair, could have made their way into corn-based products, said Steve Phillips, senior vice president of corporate services at Morrisons parent company, San Antonio-based CH Guenther.
We do have metal detection in the facilities, but again were talking about some pretty fine wire, so theres a chance theres something out there, he said.
