Kleberg County court-at-law judge investigated

CORPUS CHRISTI - Kleberg County Court-At-Law Judge Alfred Isassi is being investigated by state authorities on forgery claims, Kleberg County District Attorney John Hubert told the Caller-Times.

“Because we have pending cases in front of Judge Isassi, I have recused myself and my office and the Texas attorney general’s office is conducting that investigation,” Hubert said in a Thursday phone interview.

It’s not the first time Isassi, who served as county attorney, has run into legal issues. In 2008, he was convicted of two counts of exercising improper influence, both Class A misdemeanors. In that case Isassi was accused of trying to have a felony charge of evading in a vehicle against his aunt, Anna Linda Gonzalez, dismissed in 2005.
