Cuellar: shot fired at Border Protection helicopter struck pilot’s vest
One of the shots fired Friday at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter patrolling along the border in Laredo went through the aircraft and hit the pilot’s vest, according to Congressman Henry Cuellar.
The pilot was not injured, he said.
“Just a few inches more, this would’ve been a different type of situation,” Cuellar said.
Cuellar, who has been briefed on the investigation, said it’s suspected that the gunfire came from Mexico.
