Casey considering run for president?

Yesterday on the "tell me something I don't know" segment of Hardball, one of the panelist, an NBC reporter, iirc, said that Casey was coy when asked if he might run for president in 2020. I guess I'd be surprised, but if there is a polar opposite to Trump, it's Casey.

At least that was the political rumor in 2006 when he was pressed into service to run against Santorum.

He is smart and personable one on one. He doesn’t have the “it” factor needed to keep people awake during a basic speech.

To, say, Kamala Harris. Partially because he’s a white-bread white guy but he’s also turned into a smart politician. I like his FB page a lot and he’s said a few things that could be considered “controversial.” Like despite being “pro-life” on paper, he came out in support of PP because the vast majority of what they do serves to *prevent* abortions. Plus since we’re stuck with the EC for the foreseeable future, he’d carry PA in a heartbeat.

His views make perfect sense to me because I'm the same. So is Conor Lamb and many other Catholics who are also middle-of-the-road and members of the Democratic Party.

Many (or most) of us believe that abortion is morally wrong as a personal choice, but we also believe that the government cannot force such a religious/moral prohibition on anyone else. Therefore we believe that it's every woman's right to choose and most of us are OK with that. Only the fundies and right-wing nutjobs aren't.

Bob Casey Jr. should not be confused with his dad who was much more of an anti-choice anti-abortion guy. But that was a different time.

I'd support him if he decides to run for Governor, however I don't believe he'd be interested in the Presidency.

It’s a nuanced view that doesn’t fit into a slogan. I think that’s why Casey is acceptable to many of the hard-line anti-choice types, although the comments on his pro-PP piece were downright vile.
I think both Sen. Casey and Gov. Wolf would be great as #2 on the ticket.

He believes pro-life encompasses helping babies after they are born and throughout their entire life. Essentially, the Catholic Social Teachings is his moral compass.
