A longtime battle between Comcast and the state of Oregon has ended with a $155 million agreement.

Comcast, according to Gov. Kate Brown's office, will pay the money as part of a settlement regarding a lawsuit over property taxes. Brown's office said Comcast " will pay significantly higher taxes going forward than it would have" under an existing exemption.

Under the settlement, Comcast acceded to the central assessment methodology" after agreeing to withdraw an application for an exemption.
