Ohio House passes bill allowing student answers to be scientifically wrong due to religionLast edited Thu Nov 14, 2019, 08:13 PM - Edit history (2)
{Edited to add, and it's important}: Per several posts at Popehat, WKRC's account gives a wild exaggeration of this bill's consequences. I did not find this out until I was away from my computer. I'm at home now, and I lack high-speed access. I'll correct things when I can.
I apologize for my rash reaction. I return you now to the original content: Hat tip, Joe.My.God: Ohio GOP Passes New Law: Students Get Credit For Wrong Answers If Their Reasoning Is Based On Jesus
November 14, 2019 Ohio House passes bill allowing student answers to be scientifically wrong due to religion
by WKRC Wednesday, November 13th 2019 COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - Ohio lawmakers are weighing in on how public schools can teach things like evolution. The Ohio House on Wednesday passed the "Student Religious Liberties Act." Under the law, students can't be penalized if their work is scientifically wrong as long as the reasoning is because of their religious beliefs. Instead, students are graded on substance and relevance. Every Republican in the House supported the bill. It now moves to the Republican-controlled Senate.

7. I'm from Cincinnati and I can tell you those aren't demons or so-called bacteria.
They are small trolls hidden under the gall bladder. That's what my pappy said made him dyspeptic, we don't need high brow gastroastrologists here in Ohio.

10. That's rediculous!
However, a decline would probably include many inane ideas like that, I guess. Ohio may be starting to tunnel its way into the Neo-Dark Ages here if they allow that to fly.
Of course, that allows finding answers to important questions like, how many Jesuses are there in a molecule? Oh, and we need to know the answer to the equation E=mc^2Jesus. Of course we all know that the hypotenuse of a triangle is the Holy Trinity and that God geometricizes, of course. Dr. Woo will be with you to exorcise your demons in a moment! Manganese + friction = burned witches, etc. |
