MTA removes all cars from Queens subway derailment

WOODSIDE (WABC) -- All cars from the F train that derailed on Friday in Queens have been removed while crews finish repairs to the damaged tracks.

The MTA is working to restore normal service on all four affected lines by 5 a.m. Monday.

Local service was restored for the E F on the Queens Boulevard line shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday. E and F trains run local in Queens and then resume their regular routes into Manhattan.

Subway service in Queens shut down in both directions Saturday night at 10 p.m. between Queens Plaza and Jackson Heights-Roosevelt, because workers needed the track space to remove the four remaining subway cars that derailed in the tunnel.
