Trump should 'absolutely not' be blamed for US Capitol riots, Missouri Gov. Parson says

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson expressed dismay on Wednesday at news that a pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol to derail the certification of President-elect Joe Biden's victory.

But he said people should "absolutely not" place the blame for the violence on President Donald Trump or the Republicans who were trying to block certification of the presidential election results.

"When you try to blame the president or blame somebody else, you know, my understanding is the president told them not to commit any crimes," Parson said, later adding: "My point of it is that if they're doing things that violate the law, don't do it. Go back outside and protest."

Dozens of Republican members of Congress, led by Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley, planned to object to certifying the presidential election results. But proceedings were suspended when extremists pushed past barricades and eventually on to the House and Senate floors in a chaotic scene.

and I would like to say it shocked the hell out of me that this waste of space was actually elected Governor this last go 'round (he inherited the position when Eric Greitens was booted out). But then again rural MO is so far up Trump's ass that I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The KC and St Louis urban votes just couldn't overcome the stupid.

"The President told them not to commit any crimes." Are you shitting me??? He told them to march to the Capitol and fight. He knew EXACTLY what he was asking them to do, and he danced with glee when they did it. Parson - go to hell.
