The 'Alliance for Jobs" sure hates Tim Walz (candidate for Gov of MN for you out-of-staters)

I got a piece about his "almost 60% of votes" missed, "failing to stand up to President Trump" on issues like: (and there were 7 issues, e.g. "reinstate preexisting condition exclusion in health policies", and "fighting sex trafficking", and "combating online predators", and fighting the opioid epidemic"

As for Alliance for Jobs:

https://www.minnpost.com/politics-policy/2018/08/meet-major-independent-expenditure-committees-involved-minnesotas-2018-elect
Who they’re for/against: pro-Lori Swanson
Alliance for Jobs carried $125,000 over from 2017 and has raised another $210,000 this year. It has sponsored at least two direct mail pieces supporting Lori Swanson-Rick Nolan gubernatorial ticket. In mailing, Swanson is portrayed as someone who will stand up to President Trump on issues such as the travel ban and the separation of families at the southern border.

The big donors to Alliance for Jobs in 2018 are Vance Opperman, president and CEO of Key Investment (which, among other things, owns MSP Communications), who gave $75,000; John and Sue Morrison, who gave $25,000 this year (on top of the $25,000 they gave last year); and Dr. S.K. Dash, founder of biotech company UAS Labs, who gave $10,000 (plus $5,000 last year); and John Fruth, founder of Ocular Sciences, who gave $100,000 after the most-recent state report was filed.

That's not too helpful, I really don't know, well anything about the above. But I just don't like the PAC name, so fucking generic.

People here probably know that the Lori Swanson campaign has been directly attacking Walz/Flanagan.

About 8 other PACs described at the link above.

I can't believe the number of flyers I've gotten so far, way more than ever.

In contrast, I've seen relatively few yard signs.

Edited: Walz/Nolan --to-> Walz/Flanagan. Sigh. Thanks dflprincess

2. The fact that she hit him in the debate today with missing votes, the day this flyer drops,

is quite the coincidence.

3. Is this the same man

who has called for an immediate investigation into trump's informal (and massively unqualified) trio of VA advisors ? Ike Perlmutter (President of Marvel Comics), Marc Sherman (sheister lawyer) and Bruce Moskowitz (over-priced quack to the stars)--never elected, never vetted, never served or wore the uniform, never confirmed by Congress or introduced to the the public, but who have proposed sweeping changes to VA health care system, are being given unfettered access to top VA officials and demanding that their ideas be implemented without review - by anybody - all behind closed doors.

If this is that man, I already like him.

Please Mr. Walz, carry on . . .

4. Actually it's Walz/Flannagan she's attacking. (Just to avoid confusion)

Nolan is Swanson's running mate.

There was a time I would have supported Swanson in a run for governor. But not any more.

6. There is a lot to keep straight this year

I don't think we've ever had one like this.

7. I agree. I can't believe all the flyers I'm getting in the mail. I'm in CD5 which adds quite a lot

to the name-keeping-straight effort. At least congressional candidates don't have running mates, so that helps a bit.

8. For the first time ever I'm glad I'm in CD3

The CD5 race would be just another hard decision. And (trumpet blare) Phillips in up 3 points in CD3, still close but I don't recall a DFLer ever being up by anything in this district.

9. Got one of those last week.

Threw it in the trash. Now that I know it's from the Swanson supporting PAC, I won't be voting for her tomorrow in the primary.
