It is not that we got the biggest snow storm today, mid April - 10" at least

it is that just on Thursday we could see half our yard with no snow cover. We really had white out today and the snow was flying sideways. When we finally ventured outside, there were major snow drifts but at least we opened a path on the driveway for one car - if needed.

This is the time when there should be baby bunnies but they all shiver.

And the other day we walked and watched a flock of Robins looking for something to eat. The bird store told me to put raisins, they eat fruit. Yes, I do have raisins, just need a place to put them since they are not regular visitors, squirrels may chase them, or jays..

But I need a clean space to scatter the raisins.

And then I was thinking - wasn't today a senate convention?

Crazy.

I'm in NE New York and we had four nor'easters in three weeks just last month. And we're expecting not more snow, but sleet, high winds and about two inches of ice starting tonight through the weekend. I just checked outside and it looks like it's starting. The rest of the week looks pretty bad too - just when the mountains of snow were finally melting. I had to drive to a nearby town on Tuesday and was met with flying snow going both ways. At least that didn't stick this time, but apparently the ice that we're expecting now is going to.

And I worry about the animals, too. I saw my first robin just this week which gave me some hope, we have lots of bunnies around and last night I startled a deer on my way home right near my house. I slow way down when driving after dark because I see deer frequently...
