Grand River flooding could be Lansing's worst since 1985

LANSING - Areas along the Grand River in Lansing could see flooding not seen since 1985 if current forecasts hold up.

Steady rain across the region, coupled with significant snow melt in the past week, was expected to push the river past flood stage by late Tuesday or early Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The river stood at 9.9 feet on Tuesday afternoon and was expected to crest at 14.1 feet on Friday or Saturday. Flood stage is 11 feet.
