The Boston Pride of the NWHL will celebrate Pride Night at its home game on Feb. 15 versus the Connecticut Whale, and they’re offering Outsports readers 10% off tickets with code OUTSPORTS10.

Boston is currently in first place in the NWHL by about seven miles, having not lost a single game this season.

To celebrate the LGBTQ community, Pride players will be wearing special jerseys with rainbow accents during the game. Dropping the puck will be the other Boston Pride Hockey LGBT+ organization — the group which hosts the city’s annual pride celebration in June. You Can Play, the organization fighting for LGBTQ inclusion in sports and founded by NHL executive Patrick Burke, will also be recognized, as will other LGBTQ organizations.

“We may designate it as Pride Night, but it’s not about just one game,” said team president Hayley Moore. “It’s a culmination of everything the Boston Pride Hockey Team does all season long to illustrate that our sport is for and can be played by everyone who wants to participate. As the women’s major professional hockey team representing the city of Boston, this is a responsibility we take very seriously.”

For some people connected with the team, the event is very personal.

“The hockey community holds a special place in my heart and was a constant support system throughout my life,” said team marketing director Katie Gardner. “It was through the hockey community’s unwavering acceptance that I was able to have the courage to come out and be my authentic self.”

You can buy tickets to the team’s Pride Night, as well as other games for the rest of the season by clicking here. And be sure to enter discount code OUTSPORTS10 for a 10% discount on all tickets. Game tickets are only $18 to $40 with the discount. Outsports is proud to partner with the Boston Pride for the event.

Games are held at Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton. The game starts at 6:30.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story did not include the full name of the Boston Pride Hockey LGBT+ organization and linked to an organization with a similar name that is not related to this event. The correct link is https://bostonpridehockey.org/
