Jury awards $150,000 in botched funeral case
NORTHAMPTON, MASS. >> A Massachusetts jury has awarded $150,000 to the three adult children of a man whose funeral and burial was botched by a now-closed funeral home.
The Hampshire Superior Court ruled that each of Lincoln White Sr.'s children will get $50,000 after finding the Ryder Funeral Home in South Hadley and former owner William Ryder negligent.
White was a Korean War veteran who died in May 2014.
The children had requested that their father's ashes be combined in an urn with their mother's ashes. She died in 2011.
