GAITHERSBURG, Md. - A train has struck a tractor-trailer in Montgomery County, officials say.
The crash happened at East Diamond Avenue and Chestnut Street in Gaithersburg at around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, police say.
“Amtrak 29, operating on CSX RR has struck a vehicle at Chestnut Street in Gaithersburg, MD,” the Maryland Transit Administration tweeted. “Currently both tracks are blocked while authorities investigate the accident. Anticipate significant delay.”
