Today it has been 60 years since the Clutter family were murdered

In Holcomb KS.

I found Capoteís book IN COLD BLOOD riveting when I first read it as a teenager. I have reread it from time to time throughout the years. I still think it is very good writing, but I feel like he really made Perry Smith seem a lot more decent than he really was.

Iíve been looking for something on the Net about it being the anniversary, such as Garden City, KS news, but havenít yet seen anything.

If you see anything, please post.

1. One of my favorite books, and the film was pretty good too. First time I drove across country

by myself, I went through Kansas on some lonely highways. I swear, there were two guys hitchhiking that looked just like Hickock and Smith, rolled up jeans, slicked back hair, and all.

I sped away and kept looking back all the way to California.

2. Perry Smith conned Capote.

Even his sister knew it. He was a smart manipulator.
