Iowa Republican butt hurt just got worse!
The issue of Senate control was unresolved last night. Party tabulations released this morning that review key open-seat races indicate Democrats hold a 26 to 23 edge.
The Iowa Secretary of States Web page confirms the Senate Democratic count excluding Senate District 42, in a race between Larry Kruse of Donnellson and Rich Taylor of Mount Pleasant. Democrats say they won the seat but incomplete results reported on the states site shows Kruse ahead. Calls to the Secretary of State early this morning were not immediately returned.
This was a hard-fought and hard-won campaign, said Senate Majority Leader Michael Gronstal, who himself won reelection Tuesday. But our advantage was a group of moderate, well-qualified candidates who worked hard to earn every vote.
So I guess we won't be seeing ol' Braindead trying to Walkerize Iowa. No discrimination in the constitution. No turning back women's rights 50 years. And in 2014 God willing we fix the mistake we made in 2010 by giving Braindead another term as Governor.

(229 posts)I was quite concerned about the possible Senate loss to the GOP since I knew Barnstad had all his machinery of repression ready to go behind the curtains. But he LOST! And he sure as hell has been trying to get the Senate. There was that that Swati treachery luckily remedied by Liz Mathis. But some of the GOP Senate candidates around here in Eastern Iowa were either arrogant twits or goofballs and the voters realized that. Now Linda Lantern Fantail and Jason Grass can quit trying to screw public education and can go get more satusfying jobs in some other state and soon we can get Terry retired for good to harmless academia.

(49,978 posts)Branstad and the GOP got spanked. And spanked hard.
So now Braindead wants to cooperate. Well, is that speshul.
