Former Iowa Lt. Governors call on Grassley to do his damn job.

Former Republican and Democratic Lt. Govs want Grassley to do his damn job.

Two former Iowa lieutenant governors from opposite ends of the political spectrum are calling on Sen. Charles Grassley to hold nomination hearings to fill a vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Joy Corning, a Republican who served two terms with Gov. Terry Branstad in the 1990s, and Sally Pederson, a Democrat who succeeded Corning and served two terms with Gov. Tom Vilsack, asked Grassley on Thursday to schedule hearings for Merrick Garland. President Barack Obama on Wednesday nominated the federal appeals court judge to the Supreme Court.

Corning says Grassley has always been known as a fair-minded, common-sense consensus builder, and “refusing to fill the Supreme Court vacancy is none of those things.”

Ah...Ms. Corning....Grassley has thrown in with the teabaggers. Don't know where you've been the past 16 years.
