I'm coming into the City for my Anniversary, (May 6) and I am looking for a reasonably priced

hotel. I am thinking about the Kabuki, (if you know of a better place, please feel free) and I want to know if anyone has ever stayed there. Also, I'm looking for a great restaurant for my anniversary dinner. I'm in Sac and we decided after the last HORRIFIC year, ( I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and am still kicking!), I want to spend my Anni in my favourite City. Any ideas for romantic Annversary dinner is appreciated.. Love and kiises and Thanks in advance

You know that as we have already discussed, I am no longer living in The City, but AsahinaKimi does still live there, and I also know from chatting with her that she is really up on great places to eat and stay there. I think she is still a current member of our board and I hope that she will see this thread and contribute her ideas to it. But baring that, you might contact her through private mail on the site and learn what she has to say.

Seriously, I was just looking around myself; an old standby from my penniless tourist days, the Grant Plaza, is still around.

Its Chinatown location lends itself to either a romantic dim sum feast or a more traditional old-school candlelit Italian repast in neighboring North Beach.

P.S. Sorry to hear of your health woes. Both DU and society at large would be greatly diminished if you were to succumb.
