1. I drove a stick shift car up the foothills in California for Driver's Ed during a "small" fire.

Funny part was I had to keep driving up to find a place to turn around.

All the guys in the class got to do the stick in the city and I got the uphill and on fire version.

Thanks a lot Mr Pace.

LOL

You passed a tough test with that driver ed class. Very cool.

Hope you'll find DU an electronic home for these challenging times.

Kind of like when you are a parent and a little league coach. Don't show favoritism, go the opposite way so no one accuses you of making it easier for the ones you like.

I was his student assistant in Geometry, grading tests and such. So everyone thought I was teacher's pet or something. Lot of work but I got to give him a little guff once in awhile.

For the folks on the road, for the pilot in the plane, and especially for the photographer!

Great drama and movement!

Thank you.

9. Interestingly, I saw black fire retardant being dropped by a fixed wings in Northern California

Never saw it before, and I found zip trying to learn what it was and if it was a super slick "New and improved" fire retardant, or even if it was environmentally safer than the red stuff we're used to seeing. Black is the new orange?
