They are talking about the winds picking up this afternoon, possibly +30 MPH.

The host also said something about these fires "not getting the air support they need."

2. Yeah, the air support is really worrisome.

As are the winds.

I think I heard him say that the air resources are being directed toward big fires in the south bay watershed areas, trying to save them.

If you know the area, they are evacuating parts of the Suisun Valley, and Rockville Heights. We are about 2 miles from there.

My great grandmother lived in the Santa Rosa area (Boyes Hot Spring, actually). Most of my adolescence was spent in the East Bay (Lafayette, Walnut Creek) and listening to KGO, but that entire area is close to my heart.
