California governor warns local officials on enforcement

LOS ANGELES ó California Gov. Gavin Newsom is warning local elected officials that they risk losing state funding if they donít enforce health orders as the coronavirus pandemic worsens.

Newsom has rolled back or limited some businesses reopening in Los Angeles and 20 other counties, now including San Diego. Recently reopened bars, indoor restaurant dining and other indoor entertainment venues were ordered closed in those counties for at least three weeks.

About 200 state inspectors fanned out Friday to look for violators over the long Fourth of July weekend. The new enforcement strike teams issued seven citations in their first day of operation.

1. Good for Governor Gavin!

Without real enforcement, the regulations are a joke.

3. It's really a shame our asshole president took such a shitty position from the get-go...

and so many nimrods chose to follow his crappy example and undermined the great work the Governors have attempted to do.

It really pisses me off!

6. I haven't seen anything else other than there would be about 200 officers

out during the weekend to verify enforcement. No information on how many citations were made on either Saturday or Sunday.
